Dear Family and Dear Friends,
We have made our way to Florida after living through a low modicum of fear that we would never be able to leave London, and that we would be fated to eat yet another pub meal in our neighborhood of Primrose Hill as we watched “other families” with “their” friends engage in laughter. You know that kind of laughter that is sparked by the familiarity that only family and friends have as they reminisce fondly their times together.
We love Christmas, and we our love family and friends. Although it was lovely with fresh snow on the ground in old Primrose Hill of London, the strangeness of a little gas fireplace in our flat and not a Christmas ribbon in the place, plus knowing that the trains had stopped, planes were grounded and yes there was constant drone in the background, a TV and its depressing news that made us snap.... that maybe…maybe this was a sign that it was time to head homeward. After all, we had only ten days remaining.
Lucky us, we got out on the 23rd and as our plane flew over NYC , I looked at Nanci and said. “ It is official, we have circled our globe."
This will be the last blog entry from this trip. Primarily, we want to say thank you for following us. As time marched on, we realized that we carried your essence with us and although at the outset, we had no idea why we were posting a blog; toward the end, we realized that it served to remind us of the many experiences along the way and on a larger scale, it reminded us that we have roots, a native soil, places that we live with friends and real reasons to return home.
And so, as we bring this journey to an end, we would like to do two little things before wrapping this up. First, we want to update photos of Laos, a beautiful country, a place to which we will likely return. And lastly, we want to share some of the images as a whole that we will hold close in our memories as the year ahead turns ……. tick tock, tick tock, tick tock .
Happy New Year, our love and affection to all of you .

Nanci's sincere offering and hopes |
Putting fashion to the side, cold is setting in. |
Nanci sweating...all the time..knowing she hates the heat. |
Watching the farmers harvest rice |
Holding rice in my hand |
Every family having to grow their own food |
Eating fruit we have never seen. |
The girl who made our longyi skirts |
Nanci making her water wish at the temple |
Asking my prayers to be received |
Fresh fish paste |
The boy who made our pancakes-fresh |
Myanmar markets |
Bali Sunsets |
The adventure with Neil |
Working on a price for the hat.... |
Always smiling, always laughing at something. |
Counting money for supplies needed |
Artist meets artist |
We love our tuk-tuk taxi to airport! |
The sky, the color of the sky |
Simple beauty |
Whoops - wrong person |
Beauty is patience |
Yes , you can have my icecream cone! |
Was never sure how to drive the darn creature, steering with my feet.... |

The real dragon lady! |
